(AP) Indiana point guard Verdell Jones III has a torn ACL in his right knee and is done for the season. The team announced the news Friday, a few hours before its Big Ten tournament quarterfinal game against No. 14 Wisconsin. The 15th-ranked Hoosiers lost Jones on Thursday. The senior guard crashed to floor, screaming and clutching his right knee with 5:45 left in the first half of a win against Penn State in the tournament. He was eventually carried to the locker by two of his teammates and did not return. Coach Tom Crean said an MRI on Thursday night revealed the extent of the injury and called it heartbreaking news.

On the court immediately following Indiana's win over Penn State on Thursday, Tom Crean told BTN's Lisa Byington, "It's not good." Then Crean added, "We just ask everyone out there to keep praying for him like I am." Crean said Jones means a lot to the program, and then the Hoosiers coach added, " He has represented this school so well, there's no doubt about that."
