Big Ten releases latest men's hoops honors

The Big Ten Conference released its Big Ten Men’s Basketball Players of the Week for Feb. 13-19 action on Monday. Find out who won and see what they did to earn the distinction in this post.

Player of the Week: Draymond Green, Michigan State, F – Sr. – 6-7 – Saginaw, Mich. – Saginaw

  • Averaged 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game to lead No. 7/8 Michigan State to wins over No. 15/17 Wisconsin and at Purdue, helping the Spartans move into first place in the Big Ten standings
  • Posted 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the Spartans’ 69-55 victory against the Badgers
  • Notched 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in Michigan State’s 76-62 win at Purdue
  • Collects his second straight weekly award, his fourth this season and the fifth of his career
  • Last Michigan State Player of the Week: Draymond Green (Feb. 13, 2012)

Freshman of the Week: Trey Burke, Michigan, G – 5-11 – Columbus, Ohio – Northland

  • Scored 17 points and added five assists and two rebounds to lead No. 17/19 Michigan to a 56-51 win over No. 6/6 Ohio State
  • Led the Wolverines in scoring in the team’s third win over a top-10 opponent this season
  • Earns his fifth Freshman of the Week award
  • Last Michigan Freshman of the Week: Trey Burke (Jan. 23, 2012)
