The Big Ten Conference handed out its Big Ten Players of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 5 action Monday morning. See the latest winners and what they did to earn the distinction in this post.

Co-Player of the Week: John Shurna, Northwestern, F – Sr. – 6-9 – Glen Ellyn, Ill. – Glenbard West

  • Averaged 26.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in Northwestern’s wins over Nebraska and Illinois
  • Scored 28 points and added five rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the Wildcats’ 84-74 win against the Huskers
  • Posted 24 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in Northwestern’s 74-70 road win over Illinois
  • Shot a combined 71.4 percent (20-28) from the floor in the pair of games
  • Collects his fifth career weekly honor and his first this season

  • Recorded his 10th double-double this season and the 28th of his career
  • Earns his sixth career Player of the Week award and second this season

Co-Freshman of the Week: Aaron White, Iowa, F – 6-8 – Strongsville, Ohio – Strongsville

  • Averaged 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in Iowa’s wins over Minnesota and Penn State
  • Recorded 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in the Hawkeyes’ 77-64 victory against the Nittany Lions
  • Notched nine points and seven rebounds in Iowa’s 63-59 win over the Golden Gophers
  • Reels in his third award this season

Dave Sobolewski, Northwestern, G – 6-1 – Naperville, Ill. – Benet Academy

  • Recorded 15 points, six rebounds and five assists in the Wildcats’ 84-74 win over Nebraska
  • Notched 14 points, two rebounds and two assists, playing all 40 minutes without committing a turnover in Northwestern’s 74-70 win at Illinois
