For the first time since 1995, No. 17 Indiana hit triple digits in a Big Ten game, carding a 103-89 victory over Iowa on Sunday (recap). FINAL: No. 3 Ohio State's defense shut down No. 22 Michigan, as the Buckeyes defeated the Wolverines 64-49 on Sunday at Value City Arena. Scoring so few points is rare for Michigan (16-6), a team that came in averaging 68.4 points per game this season. Ohio State (19-3) held the Wolverines to 36 percent shooting from the field and hauled in 23 defensive boards, while only allowing six offensive rebounds. The Buckeyes' Lenzelle Smith Jr. had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ohio State crashed the offensive glass effectively, grabbing 14 offensive boards. The Buckeyes also got double-digit efforts from Jared Sullinger, who scored 13, and Deshaun Thomas and William Buford, who each scored 12. Tim Hardaway Jr. contributed 15 points, hauled in five rebounds, and dished out three assists for Michigan in the loss. The Wolverines also got a double-digit contribution from Trey Burke, who scored 13. Not only did the Buckeyes go to the line 14 more times than did the Wolverines, they made the most of their opportunities, converting 15-of-18. Those free throws came courtesy of 16 fouls committed by Michigan, which was 3-of-4 from the line.

HALFTIME: No. 3 Ohio State trailed No. 22 Michigan late in the first half before going on a 9-2 run to take a 24-21 lead into the break. The rebounding edge belongs with the Buckeyes, by a 18-11 margin on the boards. Ohio State had seven offensive rebounds in the first half, leading to second-chance opportunities. The Wolverines distributed the ball well, with seven assists on nine field goals in the first half. The Buckeyes' Lenzelle Smith Jr. already has nine points and seven rebounds. Michigan's Jordan Morgan had a big first half, with six points and three rebounds.

FINAL: Cody Zeller scored 26 points  grabbed four rebounds and handed out four assists to help No. 17 Indiana past Iowa 103-89 on Sunday at Assembly Hall. Both Zeller and Verdell Jones III played well for Indiana (17-5). Zeller went 11-of-12 from the field, while Jones III scored 14 points and contributed nine assists. The game was a shootout, as both teams were hot from the field. The Hoosiers shot 55 percent (37-of-67) and Iowa (11-11) shot 63 percent (34-of-54) during the game. Indiana outscored its season average of 78.4 points per game by a large margin. Indiana gave itself second chances during the game, snatching 19 offensive rebounds. Christian Watford scored 15 points while Victor Oladipo (12), Derek Elston (11) and Will Sheehey (10) also scored double digits. Josh Oglesby contributed 24 points, shot 8-of-12 from the field, and made 6-of-8 three-pointers for the Hawkeyes in the loss. Iowa also got double-digit efforts from Matt Gaten (20) and Roy Devyn Marble (13). Winning the rebounding battle was a key to victory for the Hoosiers as they outrebounded the Hawkeyes 35-18.

HALFTIME: Cody Zeller scored 16 points for No. 17 Indiana in the first half to carry the Hoosiers to a 54-37 lead over Iowa. Zeller and Will Sheehey are leading the way for Indiana. Zeller grabbed three rebounds and shot 6-of-7 from the field, while Sheehey scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds. The Hawkeyes went into a funk with the score 42-36, going 2:33 without a point – a span in which the Hoosiers went on an 8-0 run to open up a 14-point lead. Indiana applied the pressure in the first half, earning second-chance opportunities with 11 offensive rebounds, to just four for Iowa. Eight Indiana players have scored. The Hawkeyes' Matt Gatens already has 12 points.
