(AP) Penn State overcame a cold night of shooting with some clutch 3-pointers Wednesday as the Nittany Lions held off Cornell 74-67. Tim Frazier had 17 points for Penn State (8-5), Cammeron Woodyard and Trey Lewis added 13 each and Jermaine Marshall had 12. The Nittany Lions, who shot 38 percent from the field, connected on 7 of 14 3-pointers in the second half. Read the full AP recap and see the box score. FINAL: Penn State took control of the game right after halftime and captured a 74-67 victory over Cornell on Wednesday.
Trailing 37-34 with 16:38 in the game, Penn State (8-5) went on a 15-5 run to seize a seven-point advantage midway through the second half.  Drew Ferry was a bright spot for Cornell (4-6) in the loss with 20 points and 6-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc. Tim Frazier sparked the Nittany Lions, as he scored 17 points in the win. Cammeron Woodyard was 3-of-5 from the floor and chipped in 13 points for Penn State. The Nittany Lions had trouble finding their touch, shooting just 38 percent (21-of-56) from the field. Penn State was hot from long range, hitting 10-of-24 threes for a 42 percent night from beyond the arc. The Nittany Lions shot 22-of-30 from the free throw line. Penn State also got double-digit efforts from Trey Lewis, who contributed 13 points and Jermaine Marshall, who had 12 points.  Galal Cancer had a quality shooting game, nailing 3-of-5 shots from the field and scoring 10 points. The Big Red shot just 38 percent from the field (20-of-53). Cornell was on fire from beyond the arc during the game, shooting 39 percent (11-of-28). The Big Red also got a double-digit performance from Shonn Miller, who scored 15 points.

HALFTIME: Cornell leads 31-30 over Penn State at the half thanks to solid production from Shonn Miller. The Big Red led 26-21 when the Nittany Lions went on a 7-0 run to take a 28-26 lead. Seven Penn State players scored in the first half.  Jermaine Marshall is putting together a nice game so far for Penn State. The sophomore has eight points. Miller led the way for Cornell in the first half, with eight points.
