I personally think that Danny Hope should be fired. While their has been some positives (Ohio State and Michigan 2009) the negatives have far outweighed the positives. In Joe Tiller’s 12 years as head coach, he lost to two non BCS schools. Danny Hope has lost to three. Ticket sales are where they were at the end of the Jim Colletto era. The economy alone is not enough to explain that. Coach Hope does not represent Purdue with class with the way he talks to the media and fans, never accepting blame in a loss, and acting like a total idiot whenever Purdue does something successful. Hope really has had 4 years with the Purdue program including his head coach in waiting year. Danny Hope should be fired.

Look, I think Hope will get extended. AD Morgan Burke was vocal in his support of Hope. And it’s just not Purdue’s style to pull the plug quickly on coaches. And Hope has shown some progress, but lack of ticket sales hurt him to a degree. Still, he could be on the verge of turning the corner. A bowl win would REALLY help with momentum and energy heading into 2012.

Never have been impressed with Hope, extending him now seems like a wishful thinking move based on no substance. Let him get one more season under his belt then check his body of work hell he has 3 years left its not like other programs are knocking on his door. Yes Purdue is bowl bound but is a 6-6 record acceptable for this program?
