(AP) Indiana's Edward Wright-Baker threw for two touchdowns Saturday, and the Hoosiers rushed for 271 yards and three more scores to defeat South Carolina State 38-21. The victory gave new Indiana coach Kevin Wilson his first career win in three tries. Wright-Baker led the Hoosiers (1-2) by going 19 of 24 for 266 yards. He also rushed nine times for 33 yards. Freshman D'Angelo Roberts ran 19 times for 102 yards and scored his first career touchdown. Derrick Wiley kept the Bulldogs (1-2, 1-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) within striking distance of their first Big Ten opponent for most of the second half. FINAL: Indiana's Edward Wright-Baker and D'Angelo Roberts led the way in a 38-21 win over No. 21 South Carolina State on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Wright-Baker passed for 273 yards, while Roberts ran for 102 yards and one touchdown. Indiana's (1-2) passing game looked unstoppable at times against South Carolina State's (1-2) defense. The Hoosiers' air attack couldn't be contained, as they torched the Bulldogs for 300 yards and two touchdowns. Indiana's explosive offense used big plays to take down South Carolina State. The Hoosiers had six plays of 20 yards or more on their way to victory. With 9:55 to go in the fourth quarter, Wright-Baker hit Kofi Hughes in the endzone from 40 yards out, Indiana's longest play on the day. The score gave the Hoosiers a 38-21 lead. The Bulldogs' Derrick Wiley passed for 216 yards, completing 15 of 30 throws. He threw two touchdowns and no interceptions. Wiley was also a threat on the ground, as he rushed for 63 yards on 14 attempts. Wiley's favorite target on the day was Tyler McDonald. He caught seven passes for 159 yards and one touchdown. South Carolina State's offense finished the game having gained 377 yards. The Bulldogs complemented Wiley's passing with 161 yards rushing on 38 attempts.

FOURTH QUARTER: Indiana threw for 79 yards in the fourth quarter and the Hoosiers kept the game out of reach for a 38-21 victory over No. 21 South Carolina State. A 60-yard drive that ended when Jalen Simmons pounded in a 21-yard touchdown run helped the Bulldogs narrow the deficit to 31-21. Indiana opened up a lead, 38-21, after Edward Wright-Baker hit Kofi Hughes in the endzone from 40 yards out to end a seven-play, 71-yard drive. The Hoosiers' Duwyce Wilson reached the 100-yard receiving mark for the game thanks to one catche for 13 yards in the quarter, and ended his day with 101 yards in all.

THIRD QUARTER: Indiana racked up 112 rushing yards in the third quarter and the margin is still 17, as the Hoosiers lead 31-14. No. 21 South Carolina State capped off a 38-yard drive when Derrick Wiley tossed a five-yard touchdown to Caleb Davis to make the score 24-14. The Bulldogs started in good field position at the Indiana 38-yard line thanks to South Carolina State's punt return. Indiana added to its advantage when D'Angelo Roberts turned a handoff into a seven-yard touchdown, finishing off a 10-play, 58-yard drive to give the Hoosiers the lead, 31-14. Indiana threw just one time. The Bulldogs have possession on their 47-yard line to start the fourth quarter.

SECOND QUARTER: Indiana picked up 61 yards in the ground game during the second quarter and the Hoosiers now lead 24-7. The last 10 points have been scored by Indiana. The Hoosiers added to their advantage when Mitch Ewald made a 25-yard field goal, capping off an 11-play, 68-yard drive to give Indiana the lead, 24-7. No. 21 South Carolina State's Tyler McDonald hit 100 yards receiving for the game in the quarter, part of his 118-yard, five-reception performance thus far. The Bulldogs will get the ball to start the second half.

FIRST QUARTER: Indiana's passing attack looked sharp, as the Hoosiers threw for 165 yards in the first quarter and Indiana leads 21-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Hoosiers struck first, marching down the field with an eight-play, 60-yard drive that resulted in a Indiana lead, 7-0, after Edward Wright-Baker found Duwyce Wilson open for a 30-yard touchdown pass. The Hoosiers made their lead 14-0 when Stephen Houston turned a handoff into a two-yard touchdown on the last play of a three-play, 59-yard drive. Derrick Wiley hit Tyler McDonald on a 69 yard pass to help No. 21 South Carolina State narrow the deficit to 14-7. Indiana extended its lead to 21-7 after Matt Perez pounded in a one-yard touchdown run to end a 15-play, 82-yard drive. The Bulldogs have possession on their 36-yard line to start the second quarter.
